This page explains UNI's SMS messaging program for users who choose to receive reminders and account notifications by text message. UNI sends SMS messages only to users who provide their phone number and explicitly opt in.
Opt-In Proof and Consent Language
When UNI collects a phone number for SMS reminders or account notifications, the consent checkbox should be visible, optional, and not preselected. The user must affirmatively select it before receiving SMS messages.

Hey, it's Uni.
You asked me to remind you: "Submit assignment" is due at 3:00 PM.
Reply DONE or SNOOZE.
STOP to opt out.
UNI reminder: Your focus session starts in 10 minutes.
Reply DONE when finished, SNOOZE to delay, or STOP to opt out.

Messaging Keywords and Terms
- STOP - Opt out of receiving SMS messages from UNI.
- HELP - Receive help information or contact UNI support.
- DONE - Mark a reminder or task as completed when supported by the reminder flow.
- SNOOZE - Delay a reminder when supported by the reminder flow.
Message frequency varies based on each user's reminder settings and account activity. Message and data rates may apply. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
UNI does not sell, rent, or share SMS opt-in data, phone numbers, or messaging consent with third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
